Where to Get the Best Views of Paris

Share the article

Even without reaching dizzying heights, Paris reveals its grandeur. Here are 5 Parisian spots that offer some of the best views in Paris and will absolutely blow you away!

The Elevated Metro

For a truly unique, aerial perspective of the Eiffel Tower, hop on Metro Line 6. As it crosses the Seine between the Passy and Bir-Hakeim stations, you’ll be treated to breathtaking Eiffel Tower views at any time of day, all for the price of a metro ticket! The Pont Bir-Hakeim itself can also be traversed on foot or by bike. Below the bridge, a dedicated pedestrian and bike path connects both banks of the river. This iconic spot has even graced the silver screen, notably in a famous scene from “Inception” starring Leonardo DiCaprio.

Under the Pont au Change

Stroll along the Seine’s quays on the Châtelet side, between the Pont au Change and Pont Neuf. Here, you’ll marvel at the incredible Conciergerie. This walk is well worth your time to admire the sumptuous architecture of this monument, once the former palace of the Cité before becoming a prison. At sunset, the light is simply divine, and the Conciergerie illuminates at nightfall, casting gentle reflections on the Seine. Pure magic!

Esplanade de la Rue Piat

Tucked away in Haut Belleville at the very end of Rue Piat, this lesser-known square offers one of the best panoramic views of Paris. The square overlooks Parc Belleville, with its charming garden and refreshing fountains in summer. Street art enthusiasts will appreciate the works of world-renowned artist Seth. Directly on the esplanade, the restaurant Moncoeur Belleville boasts one of the most beautiful terraces, often reserved for idyllic weddings right in the heart of Paris. Say “I do!” to these views!

Rue Soufflot

In the heart of the 5th arrondissement, at the top of Rue Soufflot on Montagne Sainte-Geneviève, stands the majestic Panthéon with its impressive dome. Settle down at the foot of this historic monument and feel the power of the literary giants interred there, including Victor Hugo, Voltaire, and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. Turn around, and let yourself be captivated by the visual spectacle before you, featuring the highlight: the Eiffel Tower and the Luxembourg Gardens.

Place de la Concorde

At the corner of Rue Royale and Place de la Concorde, an unparalleled beautiful spectacle awaits. On one side, you’ll find the sublime Église de la Madeleine with its 52 Corinthian columns. On the other, the hieroglyph-covered Obelisk of Luxor, the Palais Bourbon (housing the National Assembly)… and of course, the Eiffel Tower. Walk a few steps further, and you’re within sight of the Champs-Élysées and the Tuileries Garden. Paris is yours to discover!
