Why All-Inclusives Are a Great Choice for Families

For Caroline, a Public Relations Advisor with Transat and our host for a series of family-friendly excursions in the Dominican Republic, all-inclusive resorts are a gateway to the wonders of travel. “All-inclusives are a way for me to get my kids into travelling,” she says, referring to her two daughters, Victoria (3½ years old) and Margot (16 months). “It’s usually such a short flight away, so they don’t get bored on the plane. And then there’s the setting and all the activities!”

The experienced traveller loves all kinds of trips, but appreciates the simplicity of an all-inclusive vacation. “I’m a hiker and I enjoy backpacking, but sometimes you just need a break from the logistics of that kind of holiday,” she says. “Especially since the girls are so young, opting for all-inclusives is a really stress-free way to travel.”

“I used to travel to Spain, for instance, and drive around, doing two nights in each city. “Everything is accessible at all times – food, water, drinks, bathrooms, ice cream. Afternoon ice cream became part of our routine, and that was definitely Victoria’s favourite part of the trip.”

4. You don’t have to clean or cook

“Very selfishly, my favourite part of an all-inclusive like the Grand Palladium Palace Resort Spa & Casino is that I don’t have to cook – there are eight à la carte restaurants plus five buffets available – or do the dishes. I can just focus on my family and the time we have together.”
