Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun: 169 All-Oceanfront Suites

Share the article

You pull back the curtains. Before you, the Caribbean Sea stretches out as far as the eye can see, in every shade of turquoise.

Not a partial view. Not one of those “lean out and squint” views. Just the sea, in all its glory.

That’s the signature of the Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun, a 5-star, adults-only hotel on Delfines Beach, in Cancun’s Hotel Zone. And with the airport only about 14 km away, roughly a 15-minute drive, your vacation starts almost the moment you land.

All 169 of its suites face the ocean. Every single one! Add an adults-only pool and beach club, hot tubs on the balconies and an 18-hole golf course right next door, and you have everything you need for a vacation you’ll remember long after you’re home.

Ocean views, 169 times over

At many hotels, the water view is reserved for one category of room, often the one that costs a little extra. Here, it’s standard.

Every suite has a balcony, and most categories add an outdoor hot tub. Picture yourself soaking in the warm water, drink in hand, as the sky turns orange over the sea… enough to make you forget the winter cold.
There’s plenty of room to stretch out: the Junior Suite Ocean Front starts at 688 sq. ft. Want even more? The Junior Suite Ocean Front Corner reaches 1,108 sq. ft. and opens onto a large wraparound terrace, hot tub included, where the sea follows you from one end to the other.

And the higher you go, the more prestigious the experience. The Panoramic suite, on the upper floors, offers an even more open view of the Caribbean. At the very top, the Roof Top suite comes with a terrace, a private pool and a guaranteed “wow” factor.

Well-equipped suites

Once you’re settled in, make yourself at home! With the built-in Chromecast, you can cast content from your phone or tablet to the TV and catch up on your favourite shows. The Bluetooth speaker connects wirelessly to your phone, so all that’s left is to start your vacation playlist on the balcony. And of course, Wi-Fi is included.

As for the minibar, it’s restocked daily, so something to toast with is always within reach.

24-hour service

How about breakfast in bed and a sleep-in? Room service is available around the clock, as are the concierge, valet and bellhop. Follow your cravings wherever they lead, even if that means a little midnight feast after a night that ran late. It’s your vacation, after all.

Adults-only, and you can feel it

We love kids. But let’s be honest, there’s something delightful about travelling with other adults. The atmosphere is friendly, the spaces are open, and everyone finds their own rhythm. You read a chapter without interruption, let a conversation linger, doze off on the beach to the sound of the waves, lose track of what time it is. And the Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun gets it.

A pool on the beach

Here, the infinity pool sits right on the beach, its water blending into the horizon. Simply gorgeous! At the Corales swim-up bar, you can order your favourite cocktail while you float. Just steps away, the beach club invites you to sink into a Balinese bed, where refreshments and snacks are served on request.

For something out of the ordinary, you can reserve one of the small cabanas by the pool. For an additional fee, they offer a quiet little spot at the water’s edge, with lounge chairs, a TV, a private bathroom and personalized service. Better yet, they’re air-conditioned: when the sun beats down, you can go from a dip to a cool break without ever leaving the pool.

Everything is just steps away, and it’s perfect that way.

Activities made for adults

Some ways to have fun (or simply unwind):

  • A tour of the bars, with friends or with the people you met by the pool during the day. There are three, including one with a DJ.
  • A mixology workshop, to learn how to make cocktails you can recreate at home and sip while reminiscing about your vacation.
  • A couples massage in the Sky Palapas, outdoor massage rooms with the sea before your eyes and the sound of the waves as your soundtrack.
  • A classic tourist outing to La Isla, the shopping centre in Cancun’s Hotel Zone, about one kilometre away.

2 hotels in 1

Still want more? Good news! The Iberostar Selection Coral Cancun is part of the Iberostar Cancun complex, which means you enjoy the calm, refined atmosphere of an adults-only hotel, plus access to all the facilities at the neighbouring Iberostar Selection Cancun. Two hotels in one, and that many more chances to make moments you’ll still be talking about when you get home.

By the way, if you want to visit every pool, set aside a full day: there are seven! Otherwise, treat yourself to some time at Spa Sensations or get moving your own way, with tennis, volleyball, a soccer field, a gym, and even a PADI-certified dive centre ($).

When it comes to dining, there’s something for every taste:

  • La Barca: market cuisine served with a view of the ocean, for a first breakfast that sets the tone.
  • Al Mar: a Mediterranean-style beach bar by day, a Caribbean table by night, with its crispy lobster tacos and smoked beef rib.
  • Teppanyaki Naga Hibachi: sushi, sashimi and a teppanyaki show (reservation required).
  • La Parrilla Steak House: the spot for meat lovers, with cuts grilled to perfection.
  • American Bistro: brisket smoked for hours and dishes cooked in a Josper oven.
  • Trattoria La Horma: classic Italian pizzas, pastas and desserts.
  • Taquería Los Amigos: traditional Mexican flavours, served in a relaxed atmosphere.

Golf, just next door

If you love golf, you’re in for a treat. The Iberostar Cancún Golf Club, a professional 18-hole course, is located right next door. No need to pack your clubs: they’re provided with your reservation ($). Slip your camera into your bag instead, because you’ll be playing amid mangroves, iguanas, crocodiles and birds, in a tropical setting that makes every shot a little more memorable. The clubhouse also has a shop, a restaurant-bar and personalized lessons to fine-tune your swing.
