Follow in the footsteps of Catherine Brideau, our social media technician, as she takes us on a whirlwind holiday to discover Roatan Honduras in 24 hours.
10 a.m.
Start your day underwater. Since Roatan is internationally known for its magnificent marine life, plunge into its turquoise waters and snorkel among technicolour. You’ll be able to tell everyone that you’ve seen the second-largest coral reef in the world and, if you’re lucky, a whale shark or two!
2 p.m.
In the afternoon, find yourself in the heart of the jungle with a visit to Gumbalimba Park. Walk across a suspension bridge, watch parrots y freely overhead, be charmed by the adorable capuchin monkeys swinging from tree to tree, and zip-line your way down to the beach.

5 p.m.
Happy hour is upon us! Head to West Bay Beach, order your favourite cocktail (for me, it’s a margarita on the rocks) at one of the many beach bars, and find a spot on the sand to catch the beautiful sunset. Paddleboarding enthusiasts, rent a board and hit the water when the sea is calm.

7 p.m.
At night, West End Village is the place to be. I recommend having dinner at Sundowners, a lovely little beach bar where you can eat delicious burgers right by the water. Order one with bacon and avocado, along with a side of plantain chips cooked the Caribbean way—you won’t regret it!
10 a.m.
Return to West End Village in the morning and spend the day exploring the main stretch. Mingle with locals, tourists and expats on the street, where you’ll find tiny local shops on one side, and the ocean and numerous piers on the other. Stop for lunch at Café Escondido, browse the small boutiques and even take a ride on a water taxi.
